I was thrilled when Louise Joyce, Community Liaison from Yolo Hospice approached me with the idea of celebrating and recognizing Yolo Hospice. We initially were focused on her vision of images that she had meticulously described and I was up to the challenge and quite excited! As we planned it more and more, I became quite taken and moved by the mission of this amazing organization.

The epic 6 hour photo shoot took place during a very hot and humid late June afternoon in 2015. We had no idea the images created at this "staff BBQ get together" would leave such a lasting impression on everyone involved including myself. Sixteen of the images were printed onto large format art pieces that have became a photo exhibit shown in Davis and Yolo county to bring awareness to the community of the good work of Yolo Hospice.

Not too long after the photo session, my own father became gravely ill and with the end of his life imminent, I drew upon the kindness and strength of the staff and professionals at Yolo Hospice to know that I was not going to be alone and that there are a wonderful resource for all of us in this area.

I have a very special relationship with Yolo Hospice. I am excited to have deepened my commitment to this wonderful organization. Last year, I became a company sponsor at many of their community awareness events where I volunteered my photography services. Below are images from some of the events I have captured.
